Alpha
Dinner, a short talk and an honest conversation about life, faith and the big questions.

What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of relaxed evenings for anyone curious about life, faith and the big questions.
Over a few weeks we share a meal, hear a short talk and talk it through in small groups. Each week builds on the last, so it’s best to come to every night. You don’t need to believe anything to come. Alpha runs in cafés, homes and churches around the world, and more than a million Australians have given it a go.
What happens on the night
eat
We start with dinner around the table. Come hungry and meet a few new people.
listen
A short talk or film looks at one big question, like “Is there more to life than this?” or “Who is Jesus?”
talk
Then we talk it over in small groups. Share what you think, ask anything, or just listen. Every view is welcome.

Fair questions

Do I need to be a Christian?
No. Alpha is made for people who aren’t sure what they believe. The curious, the sceptical and the “just here for dinner” are all welcome.
Will anyone pressure me?
No. Nobody will push you to believe, join anything or change your mind. Along the way you’ll be offered the chance to pray, but it’s always your call, and saying no is completely fine. Bring the hardest questions you’ve got.
Do I have to talk?
Only if you want to. Plenty of people listen for a few weeks before they say much.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Alpha is 100% free, including dinner and drinks.
Can I bring a friend?
Please do. Lots of people come with a mate, a partner or a housemate.
Keen? Come and see.
